Dr Siobhan Loughnan (QLD)

Siobhan is an early career researcher and registered provisional psychologist with a background in perinatal psychology, grief and loss, and digital mental health interventions. Siobhan is passionate about increasing the availability and accessibility of psychosocial support options for parents and families during the perinatal period. Siobhan completed her PhD in 2019 through the University of New South Wales and led the development and evaluation of two self-guided internet-based interventions to improve distress, anxiety, and depression during pregnancy and postpartum (available via This Way Up Clinic). Siobhan joined the National Centre of Research Excellence in Stillbirth (Stillbirth CRE) in 2019 as a postdoctoral researcher. Siobhan co-leads the ‘Care Around Stillbirth and Neonatal Death’ national research program which aims to optimise perinatal loss care and support for families who experience the death of a baby during pregnancy or soon after birth, including care in subsequent pregnancies after loss.
